Q. Where do I get the batteries and tanks?
A. Walmart carries Ever Start Lawn and Garden 12 volt Batteries any one will do and they start at about $25 and up. And propane tanks for about $30.
In most States you can use A regular 5 gallon water bottle can be used for the white water tank. A 7 gallon Aqua - tainer can be used for the grey water tank. Both can also be purchased from Walmart for Around $7 and $15 respectively.
In California, if your booth conducts limited food preparation a minimum of 15 gallons fresh water tank and 22.5 gallon waste water tank is allowed. Most farmers markets qualify under limited food preparation. If you participate in a large event that serves hundreds to thousands of people, the health code stipulates a 25 gallon fresh water tank for the ware washing sink and a waste tank capacity of at least 50% greater (37.5 gallons or more). However, we routinely use the 5 & 7.5 gallon tanks and I have never been cited, so you may be able to get away with it as well. But if you choose to use 5 & 7.5 gallon tanks, you do so at your own risk and discretion.
You can purchase water tanks of various sizes and volumes from Ebay (the best price I've found so far - even with shipping cost). If your tanks don't fit under the sink, just set them outside the sink (six inches off of the ground) hook them up and keep going. There is no stipulation that the tanks must be inside the unit. Just make sure you label the tanks so that one is used exclusively for white water and the other for grey water.
Q: Aren't your sinks kind of small? I'm used to seeing the big industrial size sinks.
A: According to Los Angeles Health Code, the sink basin you use must be large enough to accommodate your largest utensil. If your largest utensil can be effectively cleaned in basins measuring 12-3/4″ front-to-back, 10-1/2″ wide, 6″ deep. Then our standard model are perfect for you. And if you need a larger Industrial sink model, we can provide that for you as well.
Q: Do you make custom models?
A: We sure do. we can make the sink shorter/taller, larger/smaller, the basins deeper/wider, smaller/narrower, make an electric plug in model, hand wash sink only model, prep sink, and/or table top model. Call us today to discuss specifications and pricing.
